This increasingly busy pub is situated near Sandal Asda on the A6186 (Standbridge Lane). The Star has been refurbished to a very high standard in the last year, and provides a cosy meeting point.

Opening hours are 11:30 to 11:00, Monday to Saturday, and the usual 12:00 to 10:30 on Sunday. However, note that the pub is closed on Mondays between 3:00 and 5:30 (to avoid disappointment!).

Food is served at lunchtimes only, between 12 and 2, every day of the week. Examples (with prices correct as at October 1999) are king sized Yorkshire puddings from £1.95, fresh salads from £3.25, Steaks from £4.25 and a very filling farmhouse grill for £5.95. There is also a stream-side garden with tables, which is safely enclosed for children, but note that there are is no play equipment for children.

For some reason, this pub is slipping down my pub survey drastically. Anyone know the reason why??
